Even though it is only the first week of the month, the challenge galleries are providing some wonderful pages.
Challenge 1, the copycat challenge, features a large-photo page, which is one of my favorite kinds of scrapbook pages. I love seeing (and making) large photos and big scenes.
This page from ang is exactly that, a beautiful scene, with just a few pops of color to add to the composition.
SharLamb cleverly turned the orientation of the small squares in the template and used them for some detailed shots of flowers from the garden.
Challenge 2 this month is about combining brushes to create masks. I love brushes and love masks. I think brushes and masks held the most mystery for me when I started scrapping, and I go back to them all the time.
Beautiful Pink by scrap-gene beautifully captures the delicacy of the flowers through the use of a wonderfully curly-edges masks and soft colors.
How beautiful and special is this page by veer, showing a very precious and intimate moment, the mask blending it seamlessly into the background.
Our members must be in a pink mood this month, for there is the third pink starring page, Roses by Nickel. The Challenge 3 web inspiration page is a simple composition, which Nickel admits was hard for her, but there is plenty of texture, pops of balanced color, and wonderful life and dimension in this simple page.
And yet another Challenge 3 pinish starring page, this one by hekas, with a wonderful image capturing motion and life and fabulous title work.
One more starring page from Challenge 3 which I couldn’t resist, because it gives us the opportunity to say ‘Happy Birthday’ to one of our starring designers, Maya de Groot. Made by Maya’s mom madi, I love the simple graphics and wonderfully sparkly border. Cheers!
