I am just blown away with the awesomeness of Challenge 4 pages this month.
And since it’s my challenge, and I’m picking the Stars this week, I get to feature them here 🙂
The challenge was to illustrate the lyrics of a summer song. Aren’t summer songs the best? Or is it just summer that’s the best, and the songs just follow? Whatever the reason, let’s take a look at some of the oh-so-summery pages created so far.
Summer in the City is so perfectly illustrated by oldvwblues. These colors are hot, and this image says ‘city’. I love the vintage look of the typewriter font used and how the lyrics cover such a large portion of the background.
Then there is Trees by SharLamb. I didn’t think I knew this song, until she provided a YouTube link, then I realized I indeed remember this lovely summer song. These tall palms look like home to me, and they are beautifully blended with a mosaic effect that I quite envy.
Reading the description of this page by ousiekell brought a tear to my eye. How wonderful the picture, how much better the memories! I adore the blending here, love the netting and gull, the ‘salty living’ background, and the perfect whimsical font for this great summer song!
Greens of Summer by scrap-genie brought a huge smile to my face. It’s funny I didn’t think of this as a summer song, but the words are there! Kodachrome, what a great memory, huh? I just squealed at the wonderful twisted negative. It won’t be long before some will not have heard of negatives. Perhaps we are already there? And how gorgeous are the wonderfully blended cornucopia of colorful flowers!
I love this composition by easyeyes4you, a nice collection of photos, the words on the left, a great title. And how good does she look in her summer clothes?? Love the border on this page too, so wonderfully green and textured.
And speaking of summer clothes, I have to give a shout-out to the inimitably creative madi, who illustrated one of my favorite new Bruce Springsteen songs, complete with a silhouette of Bruce, totally recognizable, on the page.
