Half way into the year and the Oscraps challenges are really showing the renewed vigor of the new challenge discount system! Let’s take a peek at some of the highlights of the June challenges.
This first pick is from challenge #1 on Selfies. This made me smile, especially the story from Bush Girl about how her phone is full of selfies of her daughter…so cute! Love the repetition here, the snapshot format and the fun lettering. I bet she can’t delete these pictures from her phone!
This page from Tropt for the #2 Copycat challenge has such an exotic feel to it, I love the vintage coloring, the photos, all the wonderful layers and brush work with a central focus. Makes me want to go there!
This page from duzzy64 is a unique interpretation of this month’s #3 Color challenge, with a sweet photo in sepia tones and wonderful use of the colors subtly in the background. The framing, elements and fonts all work together to tell a very special story.
There is something wonderful about the fashion journaling interpretation for Challenge No 4 by purlz76. The background and brushes have a wonderful journal sketchy feel, I love the black word strips that anchor the page, but my favorite part are the word strips spilling out of the tilted and torn postcard, and love how this postcard is securely anchored to the page with the big button element. It’s one of those pages I can keep looking at for a long time, finding little subtleties.
Challenge #5 is to journal about little things, special things, things we want to remember. This interpretation from mimisgirl is just perfect! The photo is precious, the innocent child curled up with the ‘lovie’ monkey, the placement on a simple page, with a few embellishments and journaling, makes this a simple and wonderful memory. I especially love the red x’s.
Look at all the wonderful stuff layered onto this blind scraplift page by scrappingramma. Absolutely adore everything about this, from the cute picture to the wonderful layers, things off center, great use of elements, a monochromatic but effective color palette!
Still a half month to go, keep those challenge pages coming!
