In the last few years, art journaling has become very popular among digiscrappers. This has also made gesso and paint much more popular in more traditional digiscrapping layouts. I am personally in love with all the paint I am seeing these days. It has become my favorite element on a page. The OScraps Gallery is full of beautiful art journaling pages that can inspire you whether you are currently art journaling or not. And maybe you’ll feel inspired to give digi art journaling a try. It might just be the mojo jump start you need. (I know it was for me when I gave it a try.)
When I saw this layout from ger, I knew I had to include it in this week’s post. I just love the composition. Plus such great use of elements. I can totally see this design working well for more traditional layouts in addition to art journaling pages.
This next page is from oldvwblues and when I think of art journaling, this is the type of page that first comes to mind. Love all the colors and paint everywhere. Plus it has such great title work. I think it just a fun page to look at, because there are so many different elements to see.
This art journaling page from ScrappyMe has a gracefulness I just love. Such great blending and the colors are so soft and inviting. Plus I love her use of stamps. This page is simply beautiful and really draws you in.
The pop of the bright colors against the neutral background make this page from kyky really standout. The embossing on the page really adds dimension to the work. Using lyrics like kyky did is such a great way to do art journaling, because music is so expressive of emotion. It’s also a great way to help you jump start your creativity.
My final choice is a page from Ann06. This is not a traditional art journal page, but it has such a great artsy feeling that I really wanted to include it. I love the painted look of the page and the photo effect is wonderful. This is the kind of page I wish I could create myself. It’s such beautiful work.
These are just a few examples of the wonderful art journaling pages you can find in the OScraps Gallery. I could have included so many more layouts. It’s hard to stop once you start going through the gallery. If you haven’t checked out the gallery lately, I highly recommend giving it a look.
