This is the hallway to the doors of the OR at the hospital where I’ve worked for the past several years. I recently transferred to another nursing position and will miss the staff behind these doors. People who work in the OR are a very special breed because they do a very special job.

journaling-
There are angels behind these doors.
I know.
I’ve seen them.
These angels don’t have shimmering wings.
At least not ones you can see.
Nor do they have glowing halos.
If they do, then they are tucked up under their surgical hats.
These angels don’t float about as they move from place to place.
Instead they run/walk briskly in the most comfortable shoes they can find for their aching feet.
These angels are not perfect.
They are human.
They are amazing beings who sometimes possess a few not so angelic qualities.
Sometimes they are grumpy and moody.
At other times they can be sarcastic and angry.
But those not so angelic qualities appear because they are passionate about what they do and how they do it.
They are extremely knowledgeable,
amazingly skilled,
and no nonsense perfectionists with complete attention to detail.
These angels care with deep compassion for those who enter through these doors on a daily basis.
You may not see these angel’s wings or their halos,
but it is their amazing hearts that are clearly visible-
in the gentle touch of their hands,
the kindness in their eyes,
the reassuring words they speak,
and the confident knowledge and skills of their minds.
Behind these doors,
24/7/365, each and every day,
there are angels with very big hearts behind these doors.
I know.
I’ve seen them

Page Process-
A photo filter was applied to the photo and clipped to a
FotoBlendz and all layers were resized.
Brushes and transfers and textures were layered into the design with blending modes applied.
Journaling and WordARt were added and stitching anchors the edges to add texture.
CoolGlows were duplicated and the ‘Color’ blending mode was applied.
One simple element of the red heart provides color and a focal point, as well as, aiding in conveying the message of the ART.

Simple and linear with a bit of distress and texture.

thanks for looking………………donna

Wonderful journaling. Love the color which I always associate with hospitals, that minty green so many nurses wear! You truly are angels and give comfort and aid to those of us who have landed in your care. God bless!

You are so right. I have been behind those doors a few times and angels truly do reside their. Their touch, their kindness, their beautiful ability to place your soul at ease. Maybe your delicate touch to your wonderful artistry comes, too, from behind those doors.

Having spent many months inside a hospital with my daughter I have the greatest respect for all nurses, especially in the Neurology ward. What a lovely tribute to your fellow workers! A stunning page for sure!
