This lift was the perfect inspiration for me to scrap these photos of my son pulling in a 50+ lb. fish on his recent trip to Key West. I grabbed the photos from a video he sent me, and they were extremely fuzzy, so Taxed4ever's design gave me some ideas on how to document the vibe of the action while disguising the photos.

I set up the page following the colors and shapes of the lift very closely. I did the background first, blending together two papers, then created the textures with the artsy transfers. I dropped the frame in the middle of the layers and then added the photos, shaping them to fit with layer masks. Doing it this way allowed the photos to interact with the stains and textures above, disguising the fuzziness of the video grabs. Lastly I added the words, embellishments, rain, and the beaded threads, recombining letters to make the word “fight.”

Your blending is magnificient!! The battle-man against fish-is so well portrayed with the wonderful transfers and the way you used the textures and the fuzziness to create this LO

Wonderful blending! Love the repetition, makes the action more intense. Reminds me of Hemmingway's The Old Man and the Sea, but change the title to The Young Man ... Gorgeous!

what a fabulous lift! amazing action conveyed, and how clever to make stills from a video...all the blending makes the photos not matter...it's the action they convey...love this!

This is amazing! I love how he looks like he's just washed with water while fighting for that fish. (I can't imagine how long it took him to land it.) Extremely action packed layout. Love it! Wonderful title work.
