Default Daily Ooo's: Friday August 7

Friday! Friday!
It is Friday and that means.............
Ab-so-Lutley *nothing*!!!

I am so tired of being stuck in the time-loop, groundhog day that is 2020. I can't remember what we were talking about at dinner but we were joking (again) how it was still March 547, 2020. That led to the fond memories of how we that the worst of the pandemic would be over by now, not that it would be raging unchecked. And we *knew* it was gonna be bad. I don't think we knew it was going to be *this bad.*

Yesterday was a mixed bag of news/emotions.
Relief that my ILs got power back, bummed that my brothers ETA for power is Monday. Happy that Scott and I both got loads of laundry through before the machine stopped working in the middle of Cait's load, which makes me bummed that the machine is not working. The earliest repair appt is for Monday.
The best part of the day was at dinner. I has asked for only one specific thing for my b-day. I wanted one of Leah's paintings and due to some miscommunications, I didn't get one. Scott and Leah presented one to me last night and it was a collaborative effort. It is gorgeous and I know where I want to hang it.

I have no idea what I am doing today. I cleaned a bit yesterday, maybe I will vacuum today. I don't feel like scrubbing tubs but I did the sinks/mirrors and floors yesterday. Just ... meh. It rained last night but I see the sun is peeking out. I am not even really in the mood to do yardwork. My hands and joints are hurting still.

In spite of all of this^^, I am not in a bad mood. So there is that!

Wishing all of you a productive day and maybe that will rub off on me a bit

Nancy- Is your town/area getting cleaned up and power back? My township has been sending alerts that there are still some main roads closed but the majority are back open. be safe, you rebel, don't go under the police tape!
What an awesome thing to have the woman stop to video you and Luther. He really is such a good boy and you have worked with him and it shows.
How were all of the hockey games yesterday? Do you have more today?

Trudy- Caitlyn asked me if you could adopt her. I told her I have been asking the same. She is so *done* with the US and fantasizes about moving to Canada. She doesn't like the cold either and has picked Vancouver Island as the place that she would like the most. When I told her that's where you live and that it looks gorgeous and wonderful, she begged me to ask if you would pllllllleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeee adopt her. Can you adopt both of us?
Sounds like you had a fantastic time on the Lake with your sisters. I bet it felt great to stretch out for some laps too. The whale trip -- how wonderful and invigorating it must have been!
Are you set for the wine tour today? have a great time and be safe driving!

Kay- great to see you again! Have you been feeling OK, BP all good for the most part? I am hoping that the family issues settle down. It has to be helpful to have your DDs with you and that your family seems so supportive. Sending big hugs!
Hope the DS#2 is doing ok after the storm.

good morning - well as of today the latest for my city is there are still over 2000 with out power and several of our main roads still blocked with downed trees. People are getting frustrated. I am not taking chances I asked my mechanic son to come over and get our generator back in working shape. We got it after Sandy and thank goodness. But now we need it working if the predictions are correct and there will be more hurricanes or tropical storms and they always come north! My son and DH are out looking for oil. Hockey was good and today maybe be the best. There are 6 games and all of them are potential elimination games. It starts at noon. Another team the Winnipeg Jets were eliminated yesterday by the Calgary Flames. Poor Jets had so many injuries they just did not have enough depth this time around. The first round of the play offs starts Tuesday. So far no positives so that is good. Got in a good walk.

Chris yes a Friday and another day. Bummer about your washer. Mine is old and I keep hoping it stays running. Glad the ILs lights back on. This storm caused so much damage with so little rain. Just enjoy the day. The weather by us is low humidity and cool.

Trudy wow the swim at the lake sounds so fun for you. And to be with your sisters. It seems the Bruins are still trying to figure out their play off mentality! Good thing it is just the round robin portion. It must be kinda fun to watch hockey for breakfast.

Kay how nice to be able to talk to your daughters. Hope the other stuff works out! Keep that BP down!

hockey all day

Morning ladies... I am in and out of here quickly again today. I have to get out the door to go and pick up the groceries I ordered. I can't believe that this time I forgot to order coffee Oh well we have enough for a couple of days and then I will go and get some. I started my Whale page and think that it will have to be a double pager, so be patient I will have it done soon I promise . Other than that we are headed out this afternoon to go on our wine tour. We won't be driving drunk as they don't give you enough to sample to get you too tipsy .

Chris - Tell Caitlyn I would be happy to adopt the both of you as long as you help out with all the chores that DH has to do . I doubt very much that your Gary would be very happy about that though. How wonderful that you got a painting from Leah and Scott for your birthday! I would love to see it!!

I am sorry ladies, but I have to get going, but I will try to catch up with all of you tomorrow!

Good morning everyone.
Chris - how wonderful to get the painting. How terrible your brother has to wait so long for power to resume. That's always my nightmare as we have a lot of frozen foods (3 freezers) and I worry about that happening. I think we've only had 2+ days of no power here a few times in the 20 yrs we've had this house, thankfully.

Trudy - looking forward to seeing the double page spread of your whale watching. We saw whales from the cruise ship before and it was so exciting.

Nancy - you must be happy to have sports to watch again.

Like Chris, I feel like its groundhog day here every day. I really want a vacation but don't want to take time off work and lose money, plus we're already paying a fortune for our trailer in the US which we can't go to so there's wasted money that I wish I could spend elsewhere. I told D I want to put the trailer up for sale next yr or whenever we can get over there. With covid, no one might not be buying over there for quite awhile so it could be a few yrs we're stuck with it...ugh.

But, maybe in the fall we'll get away for an extended wkend trip somewhere, maybe up the coast. jen wants to get away too and we'd bring the animals with us, so a pet friendly hotel or rent a camper. We'll see what we can figure out.

I've been scrapping lots so that is my sanity lately, that and binge watching shows with the family.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

Happy Friday! I'm starting to feel like a cat trying to cover his you-know-what on a hot tin roof. This move is getting serious! Trying to keep up with everything online as long as I can.

Chris, I call every day Ground Hog Day, too. I think I mentioned that we watched that movie the other night.

Sending good thoughts, positive and healing vibes to any of you who might need them.

Raining VERY hard here right now! There's no rain like a Florida summer rain. The lightening and thunder seem worse here, too. Feels like it goes right through the house.

Huggies and love to all. (Group hug)
