Default What are you reading? :: 2012!

New year - new thread!
I read 120 books last year - a new record for me!

So what are you reading now that the new year begins?

I'm reading Juliet by Ann Fortier. I've been reading it for a while now - it's not the kind of book I just sit down and read. Also December isn't really a month where there is lots of time to sit down and read

Also, I'm listening to Mankell's crime stories on audio book. Currently it's The Fifth Woman (but I'm listening to the Swedish original of course).

I have no goal for 2012 - anyone else have?

I have the same goal that I always have - Read all of our state children's choice award nominees, read the most popular books in my children's library, and read at least a few books for me. I want to keep up better on some of the newer books in my field, so maybe a couple of professional choices too.

No reading goals as of right now. Unless you count my idea/goal to get my Goodreads shelves updated and semi-organized.

Eva- i read Juliet last year, and I think it had such potential to be a good story, but it never hit that point. What are you thinking of it so far?

Well, I haven't come that far - 70 pages maybe. So far I think it's slow - I'm waiting for something so start Like you say I think it has potential to be a good story ... we'll see what I think. I need to go downstairs and read

The genre is Thrillers
I think the last thing I have heard from 'her' is a serie books weeks or months. That woudl be somewhere around 2009 / 2010.

Louise Penny? Lindy Cameron? Malla Numm? Jennifer Rowe is another popular one I found. And Kerry Greenwood.

Check out this list of crime-mystery writers on Goodreads from the Australian Women's Writer's Challenge: http://www.goodreads.com/group/books...=crime-mystery

And here's a list of female mystery writers from a Wikipedia entry...though I have no idea where these authors are from:

Well I have no goals except to read a good number of books from my huge, huge stash. I have a wall of books in our 3rd (unused) bedroom as does my dh. Sad to say but oh so fun, these current Scandinavian thrillers have sucked me in.

But in 2012, I seriously want to read some of the books on my shelves so they can be donated to a spring book sale. Seriously!

My list.
Currently reading:
-Today I'm Alice - Alice Jamieson (I stopped with this book at chapter 13. She is discovering why she has so many personalities, and actually describing what happend to her. That is a bit to much for me now. It makes me naucious reading and thinking there are people whe can do such horrible things to kids! So I'm reading another book in the meanwhile, and starting with this after it, or maybe within a few weeks)
-Koorts (Fever) - Saskia Noort

My "I-want-to-read" list:
-Gabriella Lord (thanks to Petey!) - Conspiracy 365 January and ofcourse the other months to.
-Stephen King - 11-22-1963
-Dean Koontz - What the night knows
-Patrick Suskind - The perfume
