I've just finished Street Kid by Judy Westwater. Just incredible what parents can do to their kid and how resilient a child can be.

My current one is the Hades Factor by Robert Ludlum I know it's fiction but it could happen any time

Pixel of Ink huh? Gotta look into that!!
From your previous recommendations, my son loved Hero and the 2nd Percy Jackson book. He'll be moving on to the 3rd Percy Jackson soon.

I hope you get back to Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet - it's my favorite book club read so far. It will be my turn to select the book come November and I'm thinking about Gone Girl (although a couple of girls have already read it). I was intrigued by One Thousand White Women (until I realized the author had really stretched historical fiction). I was the second one to select when our book club started - a year later I feel more pressure!

I download free classics from the library and Amazon to my Kindle. Just finished a Sherlock Holmes story, and tonight will start Silas Marner by George Eliot. I think we may have read it in high school, at which time I probably would have hated it. But I have been loving the classics lately, and look forward to it. I read another book by GE recently, and enjoyed it.

Has anyone read Defending Jacob or The Baker's Daughter? I'm considering one of those or Gone Girl for my next book club selection.

OK, I finished both Defending Jacob and The Baker's Daughter.

Defending Jacob still haunts me. It's where no parent wants to go. I don't think I'll be taking our book club down that path.

I really liked The Baker's Daughter and that might be my pick.

I haven't read Defending Jacob sorry and if it goes where no parent wants to go I don't think I will *shudder*. I'm going through a big Paranormal/Urban Fantasy phase in my reading tastes at the moment so currently I am reading book two in the Nikki and Michael series by Keri Arthur ... I do so love a nice hunky bad boy vampire meets talented butt kicking human girl book.

At any time I could change my reading preferences and go and read a good classic, or a historical romance, or perhaps a cosy mystery .... or maybe a nice tasty horror .. I'm a bit eclectic like that thats one of the reasons that I love my Kindle and the free Amazon books

I am so behind in getting my GoodReads and my list here up to date. I am not loving any nooks that I am reading. Last one that I really couln't put down was Gone Girl. Everything else has been "blah."

Tell me more about Dovekeepers!
