Am I happy that it is only 24* right now? Darn right, I am! I cannot wait for it to warm up and maybe get the 2 inches of ice that is now my lawn to melt. The dogs are having such a hard time walking on it and W has a specific area to go in and she wants to drag me onto it so she can. Unfortunately, I know that the second I do, she is going to yank on the leash and I am going to fly headfirst into a pile of frozen dog poop.
Yeah, that is *not* something I want to do.

Both kids seemed to have decent days at school. Caitlyn has a double lecture on data in psych research. It sounds like it will be a long 3 hours for her. She was so tired, she fell asleep while we were watching TV last night- at 6 pm. She was supposed to babysit for both families yesterday too, thankfully they both ended up canceling at the last minute which made her relieved. Scott came home in a good mood too, whew!

I was supposed to clean today but my friend's family is all sick so I will do that later this week. No major plans for me. I was really happy to clean out (-ish) the linen closet and laundry room where sheets and towels were being shoved and squeezed wherever they could go. Didn't matter if they could actually fit, they were squished in anyway. We tried to do some more of the puzzle and we're slowly getting closer to it being done. Instead of an end date of 2021, it might be closer to 2020. heh!!

I am going to keep working on some filing and desk stuff today. I hope I get the urge to scrap.
xoxo!

Kay!!! I adore the new avi- you look amazing! I hope that spending some time scrapping and reading is easing your pain a bit. The wind was really bad here on Monday and a bit yesterday. I was nervous driving under the ice-coated trees the other day. I have seen large branches come down what I was driving on that road and even had one come down on my car before. Did you get to spend the day inside, nice and cozy? I hope that you were able to get all of the paperwork settled on the annuity. That must be maddening and sad at the same time.

Trudy- the painting is beautiful!! They will love it!! I love all of the colors, so pretty. Whew, I am glad that your son made it ok to his destination too. I never made the banana bread yesterday, maybe I will do that today. Seems like a good day to do that.
What?? Why I am not surprised at all that your Gary won't see a Dr. I was shocked last week when my Gary went to his Dr without an appt. (He takes walk-ins) He noticed that he had a big slice in one of his toes. Being Type 1 diabetic, he was really concerned since he didn't feel it when it happened or when he noticed it in the shower. He says he likes his toes exactly where they are. Me too. He was at the Drs within an hour of seeing it. That worried me a lot too

I found at the dollar store hand warmers that activate once when you "snap" them, but then you can reuse them by putting them in hot water. I put them in Scott's Christmas stocking but I don't know if he used them yet or how they worked. I will have to ask.

Kay-- very smart to have DD with you. My dad and brother went up to the lakehouse yesterday to check on the pipes/heat. Thank god my brother was there with my dad because he slipped on the ice in the driveway and fell on his bad hip. If my dad were alone... I don't want to think about it!

Rae- that must have been good to see that D was up to going to the conference. Must be nice to get spoiled at the fancy hotel too! Enjoy the peace and quiet at the house, it has been a long time between the holidays and his injury.
I added that book to my Want to Read list. Have you read anything by Karen White? I think they might be similarly styled authors. You might like here too.

And I best get my day started. Love to all!

Morning ladies... A very quick post from me this morning as I am finally getting out for a hike today! There is fresh snow on the mountain tops and the sky is clear, so it should be a beautiful day for a hike! I finally feel like I can do this hike without feeling like I might pass out . Picking up my SIL this morning at the Honda dealership, they are getting something done to their new car so it will be good to chat with someone on the drive to the hike. Then she will come home with me and pick up her painting. Still not sure what I should charge her?? Oh well I will figure it out I guess. Better get my backpack ready to go and get dressed. I slept in later than I had planned on and so now I am running behind a bit. Will catch up with you all later on this afternoon or tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!!

Nancy - I hope you are doing ok!! Thinking of you and everyone else here today!

Good morning, ladies. Sending healthy healing vibes to Nancy....hope the recovery process is off to a good start.

Enjoyed my quiet night with D gone. Caught up on How To Get Away With Murder while snuggled in my chair with Taz. Had a great sleep and got Taz off to daycare this morning. Now the house is quiet until this afternoon when D comes home. He says he was sore last night but got thru the day ok. They went to the casino in the hotel after the dinner last night and he ended up coming out of there with a few hundred extra in his pocket. He bet my birthday number twice in a row on roulette and won. He must have been so excited .

I have tons of work for the rest of the week so have to limit my online time. Looking forward to the wkend when we'll head to Washington early Sat morning to go pay our quarterly dues at the ranch and then go into town for some groceries to bring home. I need a trip to Trader Joes.

I've been listening to an audio book as I drive around doing my errands and am enjoying it.

Chris - I checked out Karen White and the digi library had a couple so I put them on reserve (Dreams of Falling and The Night The Lights Went Out). Thx for the recommendation.

Trudy - enjoy the hike. Looks a good day for it.

I'd better get back to work. Have a great day, everyone.

Morning, gals... slept in again today. Yea!!! My kitchen island looks like a bomb went off in there. Seeing my lawyer in 2 weeks to do an up-date on the trust and other legal papers. Had to dig out info on investments/house/etc to get the new baseline at time of DH's death. Suffice it to say, I wasn't filing things like I should have the past year... so had a few baskets of paperwork to go through. After about half-hour, I decided that I really needed to sort EVERYTHING... so dug out a large letter holder and set up the files I needed. Finally got it all done after over 6 hours of sorting ... only to discover that I didn't have some paperwork I really need to have. Doing telephone message thing with a couple of the places today. Got one straightened out - they had combined a couple of accounts into one statement and I didn't realize it. Whew.

DD came over for coffee this morning and we had a nice visit. She caught me before I got my shower... so I decided after she left that this would be a PJ day. It is cold out and the wind is howling so I am staying in. Have a grief counseling group meeting tomorrow so will be getting out then.

She brought over one of the caps I had made for her a few years ago so I have it as a guide for the caps I will making for DD#2. Dug into my stash for soft knits only to discover that I only have a few that would work... but they were not complimentary colors to each other. I usually make 2 caps in different colors then make a braid band in those 2 colors as an accent to wear with either one. So need to take a scrap of each color and buy more fabric that will work with them. Need to get them made in the next week so can't piddle around.

Sorry this is short with no personals to each but am running out of steam and need to rest. CYL

Hi just after dinner in the hospital. The surgery was successful and even true to walk the first night but leg buckled as I did not have all the feeling back. But was able to make it to bathroom at night. Today I walked twice and did stairs twice too. My leg is sore now as there are also exercises. Luckily they are the same done in pool. I still have the nerve block and it is awesome. No pain the first day and today there is because of pt. The pt is just to get you moving and in your home. Then the pt therapist comes the next day and you start to function in your home. Thanks for all the good wishes. I will catch up with personals when home with computer.
