Default November Challenge #6- Recipe Challenge

In fairness to all members that participate, can everyone PLEASE ensure that you read all the rules for this challenge so that you can claim your challenge points fairly. Thank you!

When you are trying a recipe for the very first time, what's the one piece of advice should you always follow? Plan ahead and gather your ingredients. This month's recipe challenge is going to follow that guidance. Read over the recipe, gather what you need, and then check all of your ingredients. But for this recipe, you will choose the amounts of each of the ingredients. You will select one number from the first column for each of the items in the second. But that is it, nothing additional can be on your page and no substitutions! For example, you can create a recipe of 1 clipping mask, 2 word art, 3 photos, 4 stitches. 5 flowers, and 6 papers. In this recipe, you can combine the clipping mask with one of the 6 papers, or you can use the clipping mask on one of your photos, or you could simply recolor the clipping mask.
Another recipe example could be 1 word art, 2 stitches, 3 flowers, 4 photos, 5 clipping masks, and 6 papers.

This might seem a bit difficult at first, but be creative! Use blending modes, extractions, duplicate elements or recolor them- just follow your recipe and have fun!

My recipe was:
1. Clipping Mask (paper #3 clipped to it)
2. Word Art
3. Photos
4. Stitches
5. Flowers
6 Papers

- Create a page following the recipe instructions above

I know that this might feel a little intimidating at first, but if you have any questions, ask away!

Fun twist to a recipe challenge. I used 1-flower, 2-word art, 3-clipping masks, 4-papers, 5-stitches, 6-photos - but, I don't think it follows the rules as I added journaling. But it was fun.

I think that the journaling is ok addition so I will accept that. I know that journaling is important on a page (unless you are like me and are allergic to journaling ) so it isn't really part of the recipe. I think it is more like writing notes on the recipe.

Bottom line to the rule-- journaling is OK as long as it is not the "feature" of the page. In other words-- does the page work without the journaling? Then it is ok. If the page's focus is the journaling, then that doesn't follow the rules.

Any questions, please ask!!

Thanks, Chris! For my weekly pages I don't even think about the journaling as it is a basic function in them.

Glad that it worked out!
Another idea for those of you who want to journal as a big part of your page-- you could hide the journaling layers when submitting it for the challenge. That way it is still there if you want to put it in an album or upload it to another forum, but it will still follow the rules of this particular challenge.

Not many of you are posting pages, I hope that I didn't make it too difficult.

*Please* let me know if you are struggling so I can help work you through it
