Excellent tut, Anika. Big effects with very little effort...but again, it is only easy when you know what to do! Thanks for showing us what to do!

Astrid, I'm trying to do a Lighting Effect photo, but I am unable to move the light effect around. No circle with points shows up on my image. And the Properties panel doesn't open by itself. I have to go to Window>Properties to open it, even though I have it active on my working panel. Is there a setting I need to make that isn't mentioned in the video? BTW, I am using an 8-bit RGB photo.

Go to View and make sure "Extra" is checked

Because of the properties panel, I don´t know why it doesn´t show up. it has nothing to do if Properties is checked under Window. I tried to uncheck it and it shows up even so. I will search, perhaps I will find the solution

I had already found (via Google) that I should make sure Extra was checked (under View), and had done that. Evidently, however, before it took effect, I had to turn Photoshop off, then on again. All was well this morning. I turned it off overnight because we were experiencing a windstorm and our power was surging (even went off for a few seconds). Oh! And the Properties panel opened up automatically too. Thanks so much. Fun effect to play around with. :) I posted a sample in the gallery: https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=380643&title=anika-27s-lighting-effect-tutorial&cat=998
