Our Back to School Scrap-O-Thon challenges are in full swing!
But you only have one more day to complete them!
Our wOnderful members have cOntributed Over 6O new pages tO the Special-O-Vents gallery in the past few days, but there is rOOm for mOre!
Here is a little reminder and a highlight of a few of the fabulOus pages created.
First, there is the First Day Jitters challenge, to scrap outside your comfort zone. If you are traditional, try artsy, if you are clean, try cluttered, if you are monochromatic, add some color…whatever is outside the box for you.
I have my own jitter story to tell. My dad passed away a little over 2 weeks ago. It has been a sad, stressful and busy period for my family. As things finally started to calm down, I found a little time to scrap, but it was really hard for me to get back into it. I knew I had to start with a tribute to dad, to get over my jitters, at the same time experimenting with a new style of page. This is what scrapping is all about, my friends, telling the stories of our lives and hearts.
Next, we have the Spelling Bee challenge, for which you must feature text prominently in your layout. Easy-peasy!
I so adore this page from Lilly-10, with a wonderful extraction, elements of fantasy, and gnomes in a customized book, featuring the little girl reading the book! It’s just wonderful and amazing!
Our Mystery Scraplift Challenge is going strong, and it looks to me like at least a few of our members have figured out what page we are lifting! Love this page from janedee, so cleverly captioned, and what wonderful photos of one of my favorite birds, the woodpecker!
And finally, my Book Cover challenge is really eliciting some fabulous and creative interpretations. This is one of my favorites, from scrap-genie. It so reminds me of some of the covers I used on my own books.
