Here’s A Bit More About TinaMarie!
We wanted to give you a chance to meet TinaMarie, and get to know Oscraps’ newest designer!
Who is TinaMarie?
Interested in people’s life stories
Always trying to learn new things
Married the right guy
A person that loves change
Really likes to dance
What would you like people to know about you, and your family?
I have a small loving family – my husband, Matt, my daughter, Taylor and I.
We now live in northern Virginia. I got married late in life and am getting used to the “married with child” phase of my life.
I’m a little nutty and fun; a little outspoken and full of energy; empathetic and loving. I worked in hi tech for 12 yrs in sales and marketing. After that, I gained a ‘late in life’ interior design degree.
I have lived in many different cities in many states OH, NC, FL, WA, VA. I’ve traveled for fun throughout Asia, Europe, Central and South America. I was an exchange student in Japan in high school and minored in Japanese in college.
What do you do in “real” life, when not designing….
I love to workout. I have done all sorts of forms – running, biking, trapeze, rock climbing, weight lifting, & yoga.
My favorite form is Kukuwa, an African Caribbean kind of dance. You can burn 900 calories in an hour! I also love pole dancing (not sure if that’s caught on in your part of the world). It’s little trendy.. helps spice things up.
How did you decide to “land” at the O’s?
The “O” has been my home since I started digi scrapbooking a year and a half ago. I love the sense of community with the designers and girls at Oscraps!!
What was your process for designing kits?
I start by coming up with a theme first. I know that’s not very typical but that’s how I think. I then come up with the color scheme. I take out my notebook and write out ideas for papers and elements. Then, I go to work. I do some scanning.
Most of it I create on the computer and with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. I would like to get into painting and doodling on paper and scanning it in.. maybe in the next couple of months.
How do you describe your style?
Modern with a twist of whimsy.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Music, clothing and decor, my daughter, advertisements,
What are your favorite things to design?
I love designing papers by far. I’m getting into drawing with my Bamboo tablet too!
What types of things do your kits typically include?
Interesting color palettes and patterns.
What do you think sets your style/designs apart from others?
I like to inject a little bit of my personality into my designs. I like to be clean, modern and whimsical.
Who are your favorite designers? What do you like about their styles?
There are so many designers I LOVE..most of them right here at The O. I really admire Amanda Taylor, Vera Lim, Valorie Wibbens, Randi Oh, Sylvie (Sausan), the Maries (Lynne and Roben) – all of them aren’t afraid to stretch themselves. Their designs have such interesting personalities. They use interesting color palettes and unexpected things.
