We’re so excited…
that we wanted to introduce her to you!
so without further ado…….
Meet Jaime Choi/Three Paper Peonies!
Who is Jaime Choi / Three Paper Peonies?
I’m someone who has a trillion hobbies and believes that everyone needs something to call their own.
I hope to inspire others to craft their way through life.
What would you like people to know about you, and your family?
We’re just regular folks. We love to laugh, and when we’re not laughing, we’re enjoying good food.
What do you do in “real” life, when not designing….
I’m a full-time elementary school teacher, and on the weekends I run a floral & stationery design business with my sisters.
How did you decide to “land” at the O’s?
The “O” was my very first introduction to digital scrapbooking and it’s always been a dream of mine to be here.
What was your process for designing kits?
I always start with the colors. I find a picture online with colors that catch my eye.
From there I decide on a theme to match…usually something related to what’s going on in my life currently.
Then I make my papers. Last I create my elements, always starting with wordart and frames first.
How do you describe your style?
I like to keep things simple and I love pieces that are hand drawn.
I also prefer flat, graphic elements such as stamps, stickers, and tags.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I get my inspiration from colors I see and things that I am experiencing.
I also have certain spots on the web full of design eye candy that I like to check out.
What are your favorite things to design?
Hand drawn elements. The sketchier looking, the better.
What types of things do your kits typically include?
My kits typically include a lot of hand drawn stamps, stickers, and wordart pieces.
I also love creating very simple frames and decorative tape pieces.
My papers are always very lightly textured and use smaller patterns.
What do you think sets your style/designs apart from others?
It’s very simple and hand-crafted looking.
I like to design things that I would actually make if I were paper scrapping.
Who are your favorite designers? What do you like about their styles?
In no particular order:
Paislee Press- everything she makes is so tastefully simple and won’t go out of style because it’s so classic.
I also love how you can use her elements in so many ways- both for digital or hybrid projects.
One Little Bird- Her kits are so scrappable and the quality of her designing is something
I can only strive for. Everything looks so beautiful, professional and finished.
TaylorMade Designs- She has such a wonderful, distinct style.
She is also one of the most innovative designers I know, always coming up with products that are new and refreshing.
Fei Fei’s Stuff- Her designs are like pieces of fine art.
Her papers and elements are wonderfully artistic and so creative.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I plan to be on this road in life for a long time
