Hello everyone. Shivani here with a brand new bunch of O Mys.This is my first time picking some little gems from the gallery and gosh! is it hard?!!!There are so many great layouts that its absolutely impossible to pick one! So I decided to go with a theme and then see if I can point you to some exceptional pieces of creativity here at O.
There is so much neutrals hues around this time of the year. The gallery is bursting with sea-blue! But what caught my attention was a theme around capturing wide open spaces. Hopefully the layouts I have picked out will give you a better understanding of various ways we can capture outside spaces, the expanse of nature.
First one up is a classic by Dady. She has used a number of blend modes and a painting effect in this layout. But what stood out for me was the selective colouring to bring out the windmill and the use of swirls and lines to showcase movement. Does it not make you feel like you were right there?!!!
Next up is a relatively cleaner style by Sharlamb. Apart from the depth in the photo, I like the fact that she chose to go minimal on this to keep the focus on the photo. She has used a mask to bring out the framing effect on the photo but what stands out for me is that quote. Its so apt and wonderful!!!
I was so taken by this following double page by isDK. The view is absolutely stunning but what brings the whole scene alive is that she decided to concentrate on those wild flowers on the left hand side. I also like the use of stamps, arrows and those scribble/stitches. There is just so much to look at here.
And to round up this series of layouts we are focussing on, here’s a stunner by Gina. While this doesn’t exactly directly relate to the topic I have chosen, I’m struck by the perspective in the photograph. Doesn’t it make you feel like you are in middle of nowhere with nothing but nature all around you? I love that single colour tone treatment here and the fact that she limited the journaling to just that one wordart…simply beautiful!!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at these pages as much as I loved finding them in the gallery. May be these will inspire you to capture those views that in turn capture your imagination. Till then, enjoy the summer and keep sharing your pages here at the gallery.
