I’m back to introduce you to another great OScraps guest designer. Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Two More Days.
How & when did you get into digital scrapbooking?
I started digital scrapbooking around the time my son was born. I was actually looking into some resources to design my own baby book when I stumbled across it. Of course, with a new baby I was hooked. I started designing almost the same time I started scrapping. I couldn’t resist playing around and customizing elements in the kits I bought and pretty soon I was making my own.
What is your favorite part of being involved in the digiscrap community?
Getting to develop relationships with digital scrappers all over the world. The internet is amazing sometimes!
If you had to live on either the North Pole or the South Pole…which would you choose? Why?
South pole. I am an unabashed penguin lover.
When you are not designing what are you up to?
When I’m not designing, I am probably either working my part-time job at my public library or trying to keep up with my two kids under two! If for some reason I have free time after all that, you will probably find me reading a book or playing Minecraft with my husband.
What is your favorite thing to design? What is your least favorite thing to design?
I really love designing journaling and title cards for pocket scrapping. They are really little blank canvases to play with. I could design them all day. My least favorite thing to design is probably Alphabets. So much of the “design” that goes into them is repetitive, but I do love the way they look on layouts. If only I could get better at streamlining my process, I might like them more.
Sweet or salty? Wine or chocolate? Beach or ski vacation? Coffee or tea?
Can’t I have all of them? Well, if you’re going to make me choose… Sweet. Chocolate. Beach. Coffee.
What is the primary source of your inspiration? Where do you go, or what do you do, to rejuvenate?
The most primary source of my inspiration is God. We were made by a creator God in his image, so I think it’s hardwired in us to create. Worship fuels my creation and it’s where I find my rejuvenation.
When I am looking for specific inspiration for a kit, I find that often times it actually comes from quotes and literature. I read a wonderfully worded quote and often a kit flows out of it. This is true of one of my favorite kits I’ve designed, So Much Joy. It was based on a quote by Rita Schiano,“Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your joys.”
What do you see as the future of digital scrapbooking?
Mobile. I am still waiting for a way to actually be able to digi scrap on my phone. I want to do more than just add text or a stamp to a photo. I have this dream of a digital scrapbooking app that I wish I knew how to make a reality. So if you’re a iPhone/Android developer who loves scrapbooking, call me. 🙂 And on the total flip side, hybrid scrapbooking. I recently got more into hybrid and it really is the best of both paper and digital in some ways. I love it.
