hello, it’s my turn in the getting to know your blogteam . I’m one of the new kids on the blog. I’m a Dutch girl married to a Scot and yes he does have a kilt but never wears it. We live on a croft on the beautiful west-coast of Scotland , right next to the water and have sheep, chickens and a dog. We share our precious place with a few holidaymakers in the summer . Our 3 sons all live abroad so I do hop across the channel quite a lot . I love to read and travel or just enjoy my beautiful surrounding by being in them. I’m a member of the local knit and bitch club where we knit for charity and share the latest gossip.
In my former life I was a psychiatric nurse but a car accident put a stop to my working career and changed the road I was taking in life..
Paper or digital?
I started out with paper , mostly cards and calenders and later on more papercrafts . Making paper scrapbook layouts never attracted me , I would take part in recipe exchanges or ATC exchanges though.
Since discovering digiscrapping my paper stuff has taken a backseat, I can hear my stamps and inks screaming for attention !
Samsung WB 700 and I still don’t know how it all works. I’ve had it for over a year and just recently worked out how to get to the fish eye function. I really should go to a photography course.
Why do you scrap?
I had to find a new way to spend my time without it being physically strenuous or mentally too demanding. The brains just cannot cope with too many impulses anymore. I like making albums for family and friends or calendars . I also love doing challenges both digi and paper , just need to find more time for it somewhere.
How would you describe your scrapbook style?
I don’t have a style, I love learning new things and be challenged so I tend to try out several styles.
Where do you create, and when? What program do you use?
My digi scrapping takes place at the kitchen table, my laptop is on all day long . We used to share a pc but started arguing whose turn it was so my solution was to buy myself a laptop and boy that was so clever !
I’m using Photoshop CS
My other paper scrapping/crafts takes place in a static caravan , the main room has been adapted to my needs with lots of shelves and cupboards. It’s so nice to be able to leave everything without having to worry about it being in the way.
What’s your favorite technique or trick?
At the moment it’s blending. I’m all excited as I’m going to follow a blending class by Jana Morton next month.
What’s your favorite color combination?
I don’t think I have one, I tend to keep the background plain and love earthy colours.
In clothing it’s anything in aqua-jade- sea colours or earthy tones
Do you prefer movies or books?
Books anytime, I couldn’t survive without a book. I always need to read in bed before going to sleep.
Sweet or salty? Coffee or tea? Beach or mountains?
sweet-coffee- both and where I live I’ve got both in one eye opening.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
If I were younger I’d move to Australia – we did apply yonks ago and got enough points and then I chickened out. oops. Next best it’s right on my doorstep, the west-coast of Scotland
Pick one of your favorite layouts and tell us why it’s one of your favorites?
I picked this one as my favourite layout as it displays exactly the mood I’m trying to convey.
