We all either love it or hate it…
or we go through phases…we want to document our lives, or we just want to create art.
But today, I want you to know that it’s okay to actually tell the story…the result is amazing!!!
Do you find yourself skipping through the O gallery wanting to get inspired from people’s layouts, and you get trapped reading the stories? Are you like me (sally/cellomom) squinting and trying to enlarge LOs so you can read their journaling??
Here…let me inspire you with examples from the O gallery…
Selena (Bush Girl) is one of our CheeryOs that just has that journaling knack! She can spin a yarn better than most of us, and this LO of hers doesn’t disappoint!
I love how she captures the emotion of even thinking about taking her kids to a theme park! (It makes me shake in my boots, too!! for sure!)
Sara (petey111) is another one dedicated to journaling! (She’s the one usually bringing you these journaling posts, but I usurped her this week!!)
Here is an example of Sara just telling a wonderful story of her son’s door decoration. It draws you in. You want to know if his new door is decorated the same!
What about Sue’s (sue.falstaff) very cool journaling about her second trip to Barbados?? LOVE!
Now, I want to stop for a moment and just tell a little tip. Did you see how Sue included her journaling in her credit notes? I’m sure she did that just so I could read it!! 🙂 But how much more did that layout have impact since I knew what it was all really about? Pure awesomeness!!
If you don’t want to share your innermost secrets (if you don’t live outloud like some of us!!), that’s perfectly fine! Don’t let that stop you from actually writing down your story!!
Sometimes that story is painful, heartwrenching, and yet, it needs to be documented.
Check out Heather’s (Heather Prins) layout here:
Be sure and click on that link above to read her A.Ma.Zing journaling!! (no need for squinting!!)
Sometimes the everyday wildness needs to be explained, like here in Clara’s (clarabear) LO…
or here in Maya’s (madigirl) LO…
Love the journaling in these! Straightforward, yet they tell the story!
and what about our past?
Here, Trudy (taxed4ever) takes us back into her grandmother’s past…
Gorgeous! It inspires visually, but also, I know now about these beautiful women, and so will Trudy’s descendants! Perfect!
And sometimes we do want to include our feelings about what is just happening right now…
This last layout is one of mine from a couple of years ago that documents the end of my husband’s three years of traveling for work. As I read it through now, all of those emotions of being okay rush through me! It actually makes me feel stronger and feel like I can conquer anything!
So, I encourage you…get that text rolling and rockin’!! We want to read your stories, be they funny, heart wrenching, playful, wild, or even just the everyday.
Also, let me encourage you to hop, skip, jump on over to the Ogallery so you can be inspired by others’ stories. There is nothing more powerful than a kind word of support and encouragement, and that’s what Oscraps is all about!!
Leave comments here on this post with links to your stories! We want to read them!
and Happy Monday!! Monday is power day in my house! A fresh start!! You can do anything on a Monday!
