I’m a mom of 2 boys and I work part-time. I currently reside in England although I’m originally from Singapore. I did briefly live in France before finally settling down in England. However, I’m drawn to the Far East and I won’t be surprised if one day in the future, I will end up back there!
Paper or digital?
Paper! I started out as a card maker initially, then I was drawn to scrapbooking, the traditional way in late 2004. I did that for a few years until I made the switch to digital in late 2010 due to lack of time to play with my physical stash. Haven’t looked back since! Shame though as I’ve got tons of stamps collecting dust on my shelves! I used to be an avid stamp user. Not surprising, I love playing with brushes!
I currently own a Nikon D40 and a Samsung point and shoot camera. However, I tend to take most of my photos using my iPhone as it’s convenient. I do bring my Nikon when I go on holidays or concerts!
Why do you scrap?
I suppose I enjoy the creative part of the process. It’s like fixing a jigsaw puzzle, trying to get the parts together and figuring where each part goes. Scrapbooking is the same. I enjoy putting the various elements together to form a picture! In fact, I enjoy scrapping digitally as I’m constantly learning new skills with the software that I use for scrapping.
How would you describe your scrapbook style?
As a newbie (which I still class myself), I’m open to any styles. I can do artsy, traditional although I struggle with clean & simple. My page depends a lot on the kits that I choose to use.
Where do you create, and when? What program do you use?
The advantage of scrapping digitally is that you can literally scrap anywhere and I’ve done just that! I’ve got to do a lot of waiting for my boys when they have their activities and I usually bring my laptop with me and scrap during that waiting period. At home, either I sit at my desk or on my bed and always in front of the TV. I scrap when the boys are in school or any free time that I have. My favourite time is the wee hours in the morning where I’m most active and very creative! Must be the silence!
I currently use Photoshop CS4. However, I’ve just purchased CS6 but have yet to install on my laptop.
What’s your favorite technique or trick?
It has to be using an action to reduce my page size for upload to the web.
What’s your favorite color combination?
I don’t have any. I can work with most colours and love to experiment with any colour combination.
Do you prefer movies or books?
Frankly, neither. I much rather scrap actually! However, I do have a Kindle app and have books ready just in case!
Sweet or salty? Coffee or tea? Beach or mountains?
Sweet! Coffee, black preferably. Neither! Definitely not a beach babe nor a mountaineer!
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
The Far East! Singapore! Because of the food and the weather (I do not like the cold).
Pick one of your favorite layouts and tell us why it’s one of your favorites?
This has to be one of my favourite pages. Firstly, I don’t see these girls often as we don’t live in the same country but when I do go back to Singapore, I always hang out with them. Every minutes spent with them is filled with fun and laughter and hence, when I created this page, I wanted to reflect that. Each time I see this page, it just brings out great memories of them!
