Default Challenge #4 - Famous Works

I love hosting challenges. I know lots of y’all know me for the Collab Challenges. This month, I am going to host a different challenge, the Famous Works challenge.

Earlier this year I learned about an artist new to me, Paul Klee. I loved his style. I then learned of another artist that I really liked, Joan Miro. Their art really appeals to the digi art journal in me. One thing they both have in common is that they are part of the Surrealist movement. You might be more familiar with Surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali or Pablo Picasso. By now, I think you know where this challenge is going.

For this month’s Famous Works challenge, I want you to be inspired by a Surrealist work of art. You can be inspired by one of the artists I mentioned or by many other surrealists. Below are some links where you can find out more about surrealists and see there works of art.

The Art Movement: Surrealism
Google Arts & Culture: Surrealism
Guggenheim: Surrealistm
All Things Interesting: Surrealism Art
Google Search: Surrealism Art

I want you to go where the inspiration takes you. You can let the art inspire you however you want. You might love the color combination. You might be inspired to create an art journal background. You might want to use an image of the work of art on your page. That is up to you. Just share with us a link to the piece of art that inspired you when you share your page.

Need some additional inspiration? Check out these layouts from our awesome Cheery-Os.

Awesome challenge. Thanks for the inspiration everyone. It was great fun. Might have another go in fact. Cindy I was just experimenting to see if I could do this and didn't reference an artist but I will next time.

I chose the painting Son of Man, by René Magritte, which is a man with a green apple over his face. I used the body and face as inspiration but instead of the green apple, I used a Lime, which only covers half of my face, symbolizing that I am more than Lime/Lyme
