How to make a photo part drawing, part photo?

Here's mine:

This morning I received my canvas. It's 30cm x 20cm (about 12" x 8"). It's on the first floor where the walls have a very soft yellow/creme paint which is almost the same as some of the houses in the canvas.
The drawing without the painted look is on the sides, so when you look at it when you come upstairs, you can see the drawing on the sides.

Here is a link to a free layer mask action for pse. I used it in pse7 before upgrading to pse10. I can't remember if the layer mask comes up white or black. If it is white just use the paint bucket to fill it with black.
