We are so excited to welcome Elisa of EH Studios to our store as a guest designer!!!
Let’s get to know Elisa a little bit better!
How & when did you get into digital scrapbooking?
I started scrapbooking back in 1999 when I was 13. We had to do a career project & of course I picked photography. We also had to have a special project to go along with it, so I made a little scrapbook. My twin cousins were born this year so the focus was them as my subjects. From there I was crazy addicted to paper scrapping with my sister & mom & family. We have a ton of supplies still from those days. Then I went to college in 2004, took stuff with me, & didn’t have time for scrapping. So I didn’t. A year after graduating, in May 2009, I stumbled upon Digi, during iNSD weekend, and KNEW it was a fit for me!! Coming up on 4 years doing digi! Also I added back in some paper as I’ve been doing Project Life since December 2011.
What’s inside you refrigerator?
Nothing! HA! I need to go shopping. I always have Ketchup though!
What makes you giggle?
Lately it’s my crazy dog Charlie. I have some blankets on the floor of my room from when I’ve had my cousins spending the night & he’s been burying himself half way in & barking then jumping out & doing it all over again. I don’t know what’s up, but it looks & sounds hilarious!
What is your favorite kit or product you’ve designed?
Oh.. It’s always been “Remember Being Small.” Really I don’t know why, but I still adore it 2 years later! I love each kit I design & try to make them fit a variety of scrap topics, but that one is one I could scrap with every day! I love topics about dreaming & childhood & innocence. This kit is all that.
PC or Mac? What program do you use to design?
PC. Adobe CS5 & Illustrator.
Where do you get your inspiration when designing a digital product?
From my cousins mostly. From my dog. From my old photos. From a quote. Everything is or can be inspirational!
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Shy, Mothering, Goofy
If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be?
First would be money related: pay off my building & student loans, then travel to Australia with my family & friends for at least a month, and the last would be just to have more confidence & belief in myself.
What is your favorite part of being involved in the digiscrap community?
It’s so eclectic & amazing! Each person, whether just starting out or have been doing this for 10 years, is an artist! I love that I can add my little mark to this community & feel a part of the love of capturing & creating memories.
When you are not designing what are you up to?
Working in my Photography Studio, helping local dog shelters, hanging with my grandma or cousins or other family…Basically anything that comes up!
What is your favorite color and why?
Always has been purple. Don’t know why, but I don’t feel like changing it now. My favorite colors to design in are blues & greens & those are also the colors that I look best wearing. But even saying all that…My favorite color is purple.
How would you describe your style? Now describe it to a 5-year-old.
I use the slogan “Simple. Everyday. Beautiful.” for my designing. I’m not too themey since the majority of the photos I have myself are of the every day variety so I design to fit that idea. I don’t have kids or a husband yet, but I have YEARS worth of photos of everything under the sun. I’d like to think my designing is approachable for every kind of photo & topic. So 5-year-old, my style is Simple. Casual. Fit for Every Day use.
How did you find your way to Oscraps?
Like I said, I first found Digi on iNSD at a little shop that is no longer up. I didn’t realize how BIG the community was yet so I stuck around there for a while. Cinzia Loosemore was a designer there as well as here, so when I was starting to really LOVE her work I searched around & found the O. It was October 1st & Sue Cummings was having a spotlight going on. The community was so welcoming & ALIVE! Love this O hOme!
