Please welcome one of our two guest designers…Jopke of Jopke Designs.

 

Let’s get to know Jopke better …

How & when did you get into digital scrapbooking?

In 2008 I discovered digital scrapbooking by surfing the internet for clip art. Not long I tried to make some mini kits and soon I was invited for a designer spot at Scrapstreet. A lot has happened since. I’ve joined several stores and even had my own ones. Found out it was way too much work though (respect, Vicky!!!) and just committed myself to designing and make layouts. For several years now, I sell my products at a Dutch store called Digiscrap and not so long ago I joined Mscraps store.

What’s inside you refrigerator?

Right now..? Mmmh… marinaded chicken, cheese, some breakfast food drink thing, orange juice, yogurt, strawberry jam… well, you don’t want to know everything that’s in there, right!? ;-)

What is your favorite kit or product you’ve designed?

I must say that I’m really happy with the fancyARTroses. But also all the ART series, I love. It seems that with these products, I finally found my style. They feel good, I like them and I’m proud of them.
PC or Mac? What program do you use to design?

PC and I use Photoshop CS5.
Where do you get your inspiration when designing a digital product?

Sometimes I can get inspired by a flower on my table cloth or a pattern on my shirt! Or something that I see in a magazine or by a painting or photos. I could not tell you where exactly I get my inspiration. It could be any where, any time and any place. Most ideas come at night though… ugh! Don’t get much sleep as you can imagine! ;-)

If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be?

My biggest wish is that my work will be acknowledged. That people will recognize it as my work and get excited about it.  Then I’d like to stay healthy FOREVER and live a long and happy life! (Well, don’t we all!).  Also I’d like my house to be finished from all renovations, be neat and tidy and oh well, a housekeeper wouldn’t be all that bad! ;-)

What is your favorite part of being involved in the digiscrap community?

My part in the digiscrap community is all about designing really. I try and visit galleries and forums to keep up, but mainly it’s all about designing.
When you are not designing what are you up to?

Ugh…? Is there something else you can do? What? ….. Hehehe! Seriously, I can’t even read a book these days because my head is too full of scrapping and designing things.

What is your favorite color and why?

My favorite colors are all cyans and teals. Don’t know why! I just recent discovered that those are my favorite color tones as I always intend to grab on to those colors. So I thought.. ‘I guess these are my favorites’.
What is your favorite thing to design? What is your least favorite thing to design?
Papers and brushes are my favorite things to design. I’m not often creating themed kits, as creating elements is the thing I find most difficult.

How did you find your way to Oscraps?

When I just discovered digital scrapbooking, I also discovered Oscraps. About 5 years ago. While surfing the internet for scrap related sites I bumped into it. I’ve been hooked ever since!
