O my Stars

O my Stars

There are days when I have no problem at all making a layout and others where the inspiration is totally lacking. I’m pretty sure most of us suffer from this from time to time . My solution is either grabbing a template and there are plenty of those to choose from in the shop  (at the last count there were 24 pages times 50 items on a page= 1200 templates !)  or have a good hunt in the galleries for something that starts the creative juices flowing again.

My eyes got caught by this layout for the  Copycat Challenge by Marijke . The special photo , the tones of the matching papers, the blending all complement each other so well.

Nadine made this layout for the Color Challenge and don’t you just love the repeat of the photo giving it extra colour and texture. And not to forget the expression on the little girl’s face.Priceless.

I’m blown away by Phylis’s creativity in this page for the Art Journal Challenge with a  Zodiac Sign theme .The design, the blending , the journaling and that lovely face peeking through it all. Yes, the aquarius mind does turn out some amazing things. Phylis is living proof of it.

Now how about some housework ? Don’t panic , we are only asked to scrap about it, not to do it  for the All about Me challenge.

The entrees are hilarious and I get the impression that we’d all rather be persuing our hobbies  than pushing the hoover. As Ang will testify with this layout. Such a lovely idea to use the drawing of 20 years ago. And I take it things have not changed and Ang still prefers scrapping to hw.

Challenge 6 – the Multi-Designer one is based on an old tradition – something old-something new- something borrowed- something blue . It was fun to dig through our stash and find the first item we bought at the O.  For those who have a digi stash that is far too large to remember the easy way to find out is to go  to the shop and go through your order history. Don’t give yourself a fright when you see how much you have spent. My first buy were  some sets of 12×12 Overlays from Joanne Brisebois back in 2009 and I still love and use them.

Look what Patsy did for this challenge . So much to see, I keep on discovering new things I had not seen the first time. Wonderful combination of different designers.

And then of course there are more challenges by our designers like the weekly AnnaLift where one page of the Anna gallery  is used as a starting off point for this weeks challenge. And boy does it trigger the inspiration. Look at this beauty by LindyShay, wonderful blending and texture.

Anna’s other challenge is the bi-monthly one. The current one has LOVE as the theme. This layout by Veer epitomises love in a perfect way.

And as it is a new month  Maya de Groot has given us a new Express Your Creativity Challenge  which is based on her Triple Play Templates . To help you get started Maya is giving a new  set as a freebie . You can read all about it in the challenge forum .

Diane ( dwsewbiz)  has conjured up her own magic with one of the templates. Wouldn’t it be nice to be there, it’s so inviting.

I hope these examples have given you some inspiration in case you needed it and we look forward to see your creations in the gallery.
