The blog team and Cheerio’s are back with another installment of 1 Kit 5 Ways.
This month, we chose My Way by Val C Designs.
I’ll confess, I chose this kit because it made me think of travel, one of my favorite things to do and scrap about.
So I’ll start out. As I said, I I chose the kit this month, and was admittedly biased because I felt “My Way” would be good for travel photos, with its map images, postcards and stamps. I also thought it would be a good kit for blending, and I was right! I am currently trying to focus on older travel photos, to print some layouts along with accompanying pictures so my trips are in print. The oldest I am working on is a trip to Paris, Monaco and Italy from 2005. These pictures are of the duomo in Florence, a riot of pink and green marble and wonderful patterns. Through blending, the patterns are emphasized and I got a riot of direction between the photos and the elements. When I print the book I will be sure to include some unblended photos so the true colors can be seen.

From Trudy:
I was inspired to use this kit, because of the calming colours in it. The papers are wonderful for blending and the elements were perfect for the list of improvements I wanted to make in my life this year!

From Trista:
I really wanted to use the quote from the kit somewhere on the page and once I saw the post card knew that was the perfect place. I duplicated the postcard b/c I like layering and can imagine myself reading it from a stack of postcards.

From Nana Linda:
These papers are fabulous for blending!!! and I loved the quote…it suits my little Savannah’s personality!!
I kept it simple, blending in a full page photo….I liked the light on her hair and the papers complimented it so nicely!!

From Sara/Petey111:
I looked through the kit to see what inspired me most. My eye was caught by the word art “My Way” and how many ways there were to interpret that. I started thinking about “Going My Way?” and how I could use that phrase with one of my many “walking away” shots that I love. So I opened my iPhoto and started to go to our vacation shots. Instead, my eye caught the sledding pictures that I have. I thought this one with the big boys was especially fun. A few choice accent pieces and viola! Layout completed!

From ellen:
As soon as I saw the my way wordart I was reminded of how stubborn I sometimes can be and only want to do things my way ( as it works for me) .I think this is the perfect kit for Art Journaling , I fell in love with the mixture of colours .

From Sally:
So I was just thinking this morning about how proud I was of my darling son who has just taken off as a musician. Then while playing with this kit, I found this picture of him playing the melodica! so fun! I am just loving that arrow that highlights the title and my son! I also love the little chalk circles around him. I did take a piece of music printable and overlayed it onto a piece of Val’s paper. I thought this kit was perfect for a minimal layout focusing on the story!

From Scrappie Irene:

And from Timounette:
This kit is wonderful. I love the papers and mainly this one which is perfect for blending or like here a painting effect.
