2013 has gone off with a fabulous start and the gallery is filling up already with lots of eye candy. It’s so nice to see all the different interpretations of the challenges.
This one by Faby 33 for the copycat challenge just grabbed my eye by that lush green colour
Did you see the new challenge by Anna Aspnes based on focus . Look what ElaineM did with it, such imagination.
The Creative Challenge by Ona has us visiting old techniques- I’ve forgotten half of them so this is a useful one . Ang revisited the minimum filter technique and came up with stunning drawing of her gd.
Val C. has got together with some of the other designers and they have set us a new Designer Team challenge where you pick out 3 words from a list and create a layout with those 3 words. There’s even a prize attached to the challenge . One that really struck me was this one by Scribler , beautiful crop, masking and use of the words.
Challenge nr 3- Webspiration is focussing on lists , Ang made me laugh with her layout in which she said that at her age the most difficult thing was to remember the list. That sounds so familiair, many a times I’ve stood in the supermarket without my list. And that’s after an hours drive so there’s nothing for it but go through all the isles and end up with far too much shopping and not the bits I needed. But I digress, look what Trudy came up with
Now I’ve got a very soft spot for arches so I was delighted when Maya de Groot launched her first Express your Creativity Challenge which is to use an arch in your artwork. She has even included some free ARCH TEMPLATES to get you started.
Diane ( Madi) did a triptych , doesn’t it look great?
Challenge nr 4 is about journaling and a difficult one since it’s journaling about ourselves, eek. Lenthe is striking a chord with me, I so recognize that feeling of wanting to yell LEAVE ME ALONE every now and then. We’re all human aren’t we?
Challenge 5 – the Theme Challenge is about gifts- it could be about a gift you received or gave for christmas or birthday or just out of the blue for no reason at all. It could even be about a gift you gave to someone but in reality it was one for yourself. Like Linda S. shows us in her layout.

oh come on, let’s throw another arch in for good measures, just because I can . I promise you once you start looking you will see arches everywhere.
What about this one by Dady, such a clever use of the shape to emphasize that narrow street.
challenge 6 – will have you digging through your STASH and you need to use the word new either in the title or in the journaling.
Such sweet photo’s and I love that they are on a tag and that quote Dinkeek used is so perfect for the challenge .
And now I have a confession to make, so far I’ve only done 1 of the main challenges, that is a first for me. Usually I have them all done by the first week.
How about you? Did you try out the new ones? Did you fill in your TRACKING THREAD, if you do 4 of the 6 main challenges you get one point for the prize draw; do all six and you’ll get 2 points.
Watch this space..there’s more to come The Designer Spotlight Challenge will be starting as well sometime this month.
Happy Scrapping.
