Welcome to this new edition of our 1 kit 5 (or definitely more) ways series.
This month, we’re featuring a beautiful kit from one of our talented and very active guest designers. Our choice fell on Happiness is you by Snips and Snails Designs, and its beautiful fall colours.
And we came up with a lot more than 5 ways to use this gorgeous kit !
When I opened the kit, my eyes were caught by the texture of the grey paper, and the fabulous grungy alpha !
From Diane W
Like Timounette, when I opened the kit, I was drawn to the gray paper, in particular the grungy gray with swirlies…I love this kind of paper/look. I chose a photo from our latest trip which to me represents happiness – riding a bike! I was looking for something without too much color that would go well with the gray. This cityscape of San Diego in the background fit the bill with the predominantly gray/silver buildings. I used a gradient mask to blend the photo, then used several of the overlays, my favorite part of the kit, to blend. Turning one of the overlays to color burn made it look like a bicycle! I liked adding some red bits to triangulate the color in the bike.
I loved this background paper. The shapes and colors really drew me in. I pulled in some elements I liked and saw how the paper mirrored the shape of the black chalkboard like shape. So I pulled in more and mimicked that shape a few more times with background paper and the photo. A few embellishments and it was done!

I just love black and white, cameras, alphas and my favourite colour is orange, this kit just has it all.
I did not scrap a picture, my photo supply is running out. The kids
are growing up and are not always willing to pose, and even when I have
a great picture, they do not always want it scrapped. So, here’s my dilemma in Art Journal form.
I love black backgrounds. My next choice was an accent color, I chose red.
When I saw the papers and overlays, they scream portraits to me. I just took a photo of my sister last weekend and I love how everything blends. The swirls are so feminine perfect for my sis.
When I saw the colors of the kit, I wanted to play with all the different papers. I also love the painted accents and by placing the grey paper with a different angle, I could use them in a more creative way. I also really like the stamped alpha.
I loved the bold, rich colors of the kit, and the textures are amazing!! The painted accents and flowers are gorgeous and made want to use all of them on my page.
I was blown away with this beautiful backgroundpaper. I also love to work with overlays and stiches. Finding a girls picture from my nieces for the beautiful flowers in this kit !
And from me
The beautiful flowers in the kit were so tempting I had to try a bit of clustering, then the colours had me pick a fall photo from last year (no fall colours here yet this year …). Since I love the contrast between bold colours and black, I decided to use the frame and fun alpha in black and picked a bright coloured background.
Quite inspiring, right ? Now don’t hesitate to show us your way with this awesome kit by linking your LO in the comments …
